    Lana Del Rey (Elizabeth Woolridge Grant) was born on June twenty-first, 1985 in New York City. Her family later moved to Lake Placid, a small town in New York. When she was fifteen, her parents sent her to Kent School, a boarding school in Connecticut. After graduating, she went to live with her uncle and aunt where her uncle taught her how to play guitar. Soon after, she ended up enrolling in Fordham University where she majored in Philosophy. However, that's when she began to focus on music.

    While Lana Del Rey was just starting college she began performing in clubs doing open mic nights once she turned 18. She thought of music as a hobby, not so much as a career. Back then she had various stage names such as Lizzy Grant, Sparkle Rope Jump Queen, and even Lizzy Grant and the Phenomena. She decided to enter a songwriting competition in 2006 when she was 21. She did not win, however, an Indie record label named "5 Points" noticed her talent and they signed a 10,000$ record contract.

    With the money that she earned from the contract, she bought a trailer in a New Jersey trailer park. In 2010 She recorded and released her first-ever album Lana Del Ray AKA Lizzy Grant. Before releasing it she decided on her stage name Lana Del Ray,(yes, with an A, not an E) The Album "AKA Lizzy Grant" was only available online for about two months. This was because it was taken down when 5 points, her record label at the time could no longer continue paying for the song to be available online.

    On October seventh, 2011 Lana Del Rey uploaded her new single "Video Games" to her youtube channel where she immediately went viral. In less than five months her youtube video had over 20 million views. After her song went viral she won an award at the Q Awards for "Next Big Thing" in 2011. Today the song has 284 million views and 1.8 million likes on youtube.

    Lana Del Rey released her debut album Born to Die on January 27, 2012. It ranked number one on The Official UK Album Chart. The Album includes some of her biggest hit songs such as "Blue Jeans" "National Anthem" "Dark Paradise" and even "Summertime Sadness". "Summertime Sadness" was Lana's biggest hit which got to number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100.

    In October 2020, Lana Del Rey had a book signing scheduled to meet her fans and sign her new book "Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass". She showed up to the event in a fishnet mesh mask and fans were not happy. This was because the mask did not keep anybody safe from COVID-19. After she got called out for what happened she responded by saying “The mask had plastic on the inside. They’re commonly sewn in by stylists these days." It is clear from the photos taken that this was not the case.

    In December 2020, Lana Del Rey got engaged to Clayton Johnson. Supposedly Lana and Clayton met on a celebrity dating app in the summer of 2019 where she apparently reached out to him. Many people believe they met on the dating app "Raya" a secret dating app only for well-known people and even celebrities. Clayton Johnson is known for being a singer and has a band with his two brothers, The Johnsons. Lana and Clayton were engaged until October 2021 when they decided to go their separate ways.

    Lana Del Rey has deactivated her social media accounts multiple times now so not much is known about what she is up to right now. However, on October 22, 2021, she released her latest album "Blue Banisters" featuring songs such as "Arcadia" and "Blue Banisters". She was supposed to release the song "Blue Banisters" back in July but delayed it to work on the rest of the album.
