Lewis and Clark raced against winter and built a fort in the Mandan tribe's village, and called it Fort Mandan. They were running low on food and would have to hunt soo. -
Rockies in Sight
They met Sacagewea who led them towards the Rocky Mountains on a boat. -
A Fork in the River
In May they reached a fork in the river and Lewis decided that he and three men go on the south branch. -
Toward the Continental Divide

Clark thought they had reached the Pacific Ocean, but they were really in an estuary in Columbia. Leaving them stuck there for three weeks until they finally reached the Pacific -
Leaving the Boats Behind
Trying to go around all the waterfalls was to strong for their boat so they abandoned it. They were later given horses from the Walla Walla Tribe. -
On the Missouri River Again
Reuniting after Clark "accidently" shot Lewis in the leg they began their journey home on the Missouri River. -
Hailed as Heroes
Two years, four months, and ten days after they left they returned and were considered heroes.
