    John Wilkes Booth decided to kill Abraham Lincoln in the back of the head because during the Civil War he was a Confederate sympathizer.
  • Booth escapes

    After shooting Lincoln, Booth leapt from the presidential box onto the stage. Then he ran off backstage of the theatre door into the alley where a horse awaited him.
  • Booth leaving town

    Booth leaving town
    John convinced the people gaurding the bridge out of town to let him pass claiming it was a family emergency. Divid Herold later joined him in escaping.
  • Lincoln's Death

    Lincoln lived the rest of April 14 but was shot behind his left ear and the doctors said he was uncurable. The next day Lincoln was pronounced dead at 7:22 a.m.
  • Dr. Samuel Mudd

    Booth and Herold rode to Dr. Samuel Mudd's house in look for medical needs of Booth's injured leg. Mudd learned of the assassination but did not report him for it.
  • Mudd caught

    Not only 24 hours after Booth and Herold left authorities showed up and questioned him, after that he was found guilt sentanced to life in prison.
  • Cox's home

    Booth and Herlod showed up at the doorstep of Cox, it is unknown if they ever entered his house.
  • Lincoln's funeral

    A service was held for Lincoln at the White House. Thousands of Americans lined up in the street to witness.
  • Reward

    Edwin Stanton ofers at 100,000 dollar award for Booth and Herlod to be caught dead or alive.
  • Virginia

    Booth and Herold make it to Virginia where Confederate soldiers help them cross the river and find Garrett's barn for shelter.
  • Herold surrenders, Booth killed

    Soldiers surround the Garrett's barn and Herold surrenders but Booth refuses, the barn is set on fire. Booth was shot in the neck and died at sunrise.
  • Trial Day

    Trial Day
    Eight prople were found guilty that day and four were sentanced to death and hung but the rest were put in prison for life.
