    Kindergarten
I knew how to read before I began school so when I got to kindergarten my teacher let me read books such as Dr. Seuss to the whole class during read aloud time.
  • Second Grade

In second grade we had creative writing time and my best friend and I would have competitions to see who could write the longest stories.
  • Third Grade

    Third Grade
I was one of the top readers in my class as I normally read two books a week and wrote summaries about them. My favorite books to read were the "Dear America" books.
  • Fourth Grade

Each month in fourth grade we were required to read 500 minutes a month. If we turned in our 500 minute calendar complete three months straight we were able to pick out a free book of our choice to take home.
  • Sixth Grade

    Sixth Grade
In sixth grade we had to read specific books and take Accelerated Reader tests and earn a specific amount of points a month.
  • Sixth Grade

In sixth grade because of the AR tests I read many books and was one of the top 10 in my middle school for the amount of books I read.
  • Eleventh Grade

My freshman year of high school we read a list of classics plus our choice of a book each quarter.
  • High School

Throughout high school I read not only the 15 assigned books but also read at least three books a quarter.
