    Lexington and Concord
    American colonist wanted freedom so bad so their desire for freedom helped to keep them fighting and show Britain that they were not welcome here in America. it also showed that they could stand up against the most powerful military in the World at the time.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    Washington and his men come up on top of Breed’s Hill. Washington has some men lay down on the hill because the British can’t see the men then as the British come up all the Americans stand up and shoot the British but the British keep on marching up the hill. Once Americans run out of ammo they retreat and run away because the British army is still coming and has many guns still to shoot.

    Patriots crossed the Delaware river on Christmas to attack the Hessians at Trenton. December 1776. Captured 1,000 Hessians.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    Battle of Saratoga
    It was very important because it convinced the French to give the U.S. military support. It lifted American spirits, ended the British threat in New England by taking control of the Hudson River, and, most importantly, showed the French that the Americans had the potential to beat their enemy, Great Britain.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    Cornwallis settled into Yorktown in 1781 he picked us because of the Chesapeake Bay so that they could get supplies from the British. Washington sees this as an advantage because you never want to have you back towards the water. Washington gets high ground France comes in on ships and burns the British ships. Washington does a cannon fire from his side. Cornwallis has nowhere to go so he surrenders.
