    Early Life

    mamalaji grew up in a village where most of the people spoke English and the original language wolof and was a very athletic child who played rugby for entertainment. He did not go to high school but finished primary school and started to help his father in building houses.

    1942 My GrandFather was called up by the British army to serve for them in Egypt against German forces he served throughout Africa till the end of the war. He would tell his children later on that he was treated very badly by the British soldiers due to the racial tension during the time period.

    After WW2 My grandfathers parents agreed for him to be apart of a arranged marriage with a woman called Adama. Because Adama was a muslim Mamalaji had to convert to Islam for it to be possible for the marriage to work. Mamalaji moved to Birmingham, England to marry his new wife.
  • Mid marriage Life

    Mamalaji and Adama had 7 children where they all lived in a 3 bedroom house on oak street in the suburbs of birmingham. Mamalaji worked in factory supporting the family
