    The Pragmatic Sanction was made to ensure that Charles empire would continue its existence. It was also made to preserve his empire and protect it from the relatives and neighboring countries from taking the land as their own. He produced this agreement in hopes of when he passed and his daughter took over, that those two points would never happen. This agreement was significant because it shows Charles would do anything to protect his daughter and countries. (Aves 914)

    Maria Theresa was born on May 13,1717 in Vienna, Austria.She was born to parents Charles VI and Elizabeth Christina Of Brunswick, Wolfenbuttel. Her father, Charles VI, Holy Roman Emperor, acquired much land that with no male heir would soon be passed down to Maria.This event issignificant because Maria Theresa would soon inherit the land that first belonged to her father.     George Stubbs was a painter who was born on August 24, 1724. George briefly apprenticed as a painter but he was mainly self taught. His earliest surviving works are 18 plates etched for Dr. John Burton. George in the 1760's soon established a reputation as the leading painter of portraits of the horse. Other than the horse he also painted a Varity of other animals.He passed away in July of 1806. This person is significant because George was producing paintings while Maria was in rule.(Grun 332)

    Emperor Yung Cheng was born on December 13,1678.Being the fourth son, he finally acquired the throne by having military support in Beijing after his father died. One event that happened during his rule was him removing the imperial princes from control of the Eight Banners, the major Qing military units. He also increased the administrative centralization of the government. This event was significant because with changing everything, he would be in charge and more powerful than anyone.(Grun 334)

    Maria gets Married!
    Maria Theresa gets married to her cousin, Duke Francis Stephen of Lorraine. It was in a dark church with tons of candles and tapestries that were hung on the walls. Maria's dress gleamed with pearls and diamonds Francis's suit was a cloth of silver and he wore a white-plumped hat. This event was significant because instead of being married for power for his empire, her father let her marry for love.(Trease 134)

    Fredrick II invaded one of the countries Maria ruled, this country was Silesia. He invaded Silesia because he felt that with Charles gone and Charles daughter (in his eyes) not being powerful enough that he could acquire the land he wanted very quickly and efficiently. When Fredrick invaded Silesia, Maria Theresa did not back down . She unfortunately lost Silesia to Prussia. This event is significant because it showed that she would not give up even if she were to be unprepared.(Magill 1487)

    Crowned Queen of Hungary
    Maria Theresa was crowned queen of Hungary in Pressburg of 1741. Her attire consisted of royal drapes and at the top the mountain that she rode up to, a sword of St. Stephen was waved around her head to symbolize the four corners of the world. Then the iron crown of St. Stephen placed on her head and she had his shield in her left hand. This event is significant because she showed her people what she could do as a ruler and as a result they wanted her named queen of their country.(Farmer 106)

    An Invasion by France And Bavaria
    While Maria was still in her reign, Bohemia was invaded by the French and Bavarians. The choice she made was to look to the Hungarian Assembly. 100,000 soldiers were right by Maria's side and within a few months the soldiers defeated the French and Bavarians. This event is significant because Maria looked to one of her countries in desperate need of help and they looked out for her and gladly helped her. (Farmer 106)

    Karl Heinrich Braun was born on May 7, 1704. He was a German composer auf operas and sacred music. He was best known for his passion oratorio Deer Toda Jesu. He became a music director to Fredrick the Great in 1735 and 1740. When in royal service he composed 30 operas to Italian words. Grain was a leading exponent of the preclassical Berlin school. This person is significant because he provided many operas for people who loved them.( Grun 342)

    Gerard Van Swieten was born on May 7, 1700 and was a student of the physician Herman Boerhaave. He was also the physician and advisor to Maria Theresa. In addition, he supported university reform, improved hospitals, and if regarded as the founder of the 'Older School' of Viennese medicine. he is a significant person because without him Maria Theresa could have possibly died sooner from a sickness.(Grun 342)

    Benjamin Franklin was born on January 17, 1706. In 1752, he conducted an experiment using a kite and key. This was to demonstrate that lightening was electricity. He invented the lightening rod and new electric terms we still use today. This is a significant person because without him we would no nothing on electricity and how it works. (Grun 346)

    Sarah Kemble was born on July 5, 1755. After marring she joined a acting company. It was while playing at Cheltenham in 17774, that she met with the earliest recognition of her powers as an actress. She soon became a failure though when she appeared with David Garrrick at Drury Lane, Then in 1782, she appeared again at Drury Lane but this time it was a success. She was a significant person because she stuck with what she believed on and never gave up on her dreams. (Grun 348)

    Maria's son Joseph II was appointed after Maria's husband died. Now by his mother/s side he was completely outraged because Maria had a sense of decency by engaging the first partition of Poland. This was ignored by Joseph II. As her predictions cane true nothing truly good came out from the act. This event was significant because it shows a mother's prediction/superstition will most likely always be right.(Magill 1489)

    In 1779 there was almost going to be another war between Prussia and Austria. Thankfully there was not. This was due to Maria Theresa's outstanding negotiation skills that no battle or bloodshed had to occur. This event was significant because it shows you do not always have to fight in battle, you can just work out your disagreements with a little negotiation and no one has to get hurt.(Farmer 111)

    Maura Theresa died on November 29,1780. This was due to a long and painful illness. She passed in her hometown of Vienna, Austria. This event is significant because it was safe to know that Maria Theresa left the world with great achievements for her country and a great remembrance under her belt. ( Magill 1486)
