This book has an underlining theme of materialism. I like this because it shows a date for when it happened even before all the technology became the prevalent problem.

This is when the Investment Comapany Act was put into place. This was created because of the stock market crash of 1929, done to help stabilize markets. Even though this effected everyone I'd like to point out that events like this don't affect the upper class nearly as much as the middle and lower class. But if they gave up some of there things and got more on our level as a majority. This wouldn't fix our problems but it would help.

This is such a strong symbol for materialism, this is exactly what it makes us. It makes us into people who are simply all about stuff and suddenly on our gravestones you don't need to know that they where a beloved mother or father but that they just had to love.

This is something that isn't just in a drawing but when I looked this up I also say gift ideas of money trees. When did the love of the meaning behind the gift come to be just a gift that they get themselves.

“Because materialism is assumed to apply to all observed phenomena, it is also assumed that materialism can be applied to explain the behavior of life and systems of living things.”
