    The Magna Carta was the first document to give the people a trial by jury. It also had the process of law and it protected life liberty and property.

    The Mayflower Compact was the first governing document the pilgrims made. Everyone agreed to make the document and most of them signed it.

    The petition of rights said the king can no longer imprison or punish anyone until the lawful judgment of his peers. It also said that parliment reefused to finance his unpopular foregin policy
