Navigation act was a a law that restricted use of foreign ships for trade between Britain and its colonies. It didnt let them trade with outside countrys so there was less trade happening. -
English Bill of Rights.
The English Bill of rights is significant in many ways. It prevented a standing army in peacetime except for with parliments consent. It also required that all elections were free. There could also be no levvying money. It was a format for our constitution today. -
Proclamation of 1763
The proclamation of 1763 forbade all settlement past a line drawn along the appalachian mountains. It is significant because we use stuff like not allowing just anybody into the U.S and to settle here. -
The Sugar Act
The sugar act stated that people had to pay a six pence per gallon on the importation of foregin molasses. This was the first thing to implement taxes and was a gateway for the stamp act. -
The Stamp Act
The stamp act was a new tax was imposed on all American colonists and required them to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper they used. including newpapers and letters. This is significant because this is where they really started implementing taxes. -
First Continental Congress
The first continental congress was a meeting that nearly lasted two months that delegated them to refuse all trade until the hated taxes and trade repeals were revoked. This is important because it made them get the taxes they wanted that were fair. -
Coercive Act
It is the series of laws that were passed after the Boston Tea Party. They were meant to punish them for throwing the tea into the harbor. This is significant because we have laws now that make people get in trouble for breaking the laws. -
The Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was the first political protest in America. This was significant because it was a mile marker for people to stand up for what they believe in and that is a big part of America. -
First Shots Fired at Lexington and Concord
These were the shots that were fired that officially started the revolutionary war. This is significant because this is where the war started and after the wr the United States were truly Free. -
Second Continental Congress
This was the second meeting of the congress to discuss stuff about America that happened in the summer of 1775. This is significant because they discussed stuff about government now that they are free to do whatever. -
The Declaration of Independance
The Declaration Of Independance is the Document that declared the thirteen colonies as their own nation. It said that they were the United States of America. This is significant because this is when the United States became the United States. The Declaration Of independance was very important.
