Graduates from Liberty Hall
Under the watch of his uncle, Meriwether Lewis successfully returned to Virginia to finish school. Where he would soon graduate from Liberty hall University. -
Joins the Army
After graduating Lewis soon joins the Virginia malitia. Though he did not do much in his military career, he played a role in stopping the Whiskey Rebellion in 1794. -
Appointed to "Secret Secretary"
President Thomas Jefferson appoints Lewis as his "secret secretary". Through this oppurtunity he ran a small career in politics and other gvernment functions. -
Lewis meets Clark
After notice from the president that Lewis would lead an expedition into the unknown, the president makes William Clark Lewis's right hand man. -
Call to Adventure
In St. Louis Lewis, Clark and the coorps of discovery launches out west to look for what's out there. This long journey was the beggining of Lewis's fame. -
Meeting Sacagawea
Lewis and Clark struggle to make peace with some of the Natives so they recieve help from a shoshone indian by the name of Sacagawea. She stayed with them the whole journey helping them out in many instances. -
Reaching the Pacific
Lewis and Clark had finally reached the Pacific Ocean. This not only brought joy to the Americans, it strengthened the idea of Manifest Destiney. The idea in which the United states has all the land from the Atlantic to the Pacific. -
Returning to St. Louis
Lewis and Clark had finally returned to St. Louis with tons of information to share. They had discovered many new species of plants and animals. As well as struck peace with some Native tribes. -
Being named Governor
After his very successful adventures, president Thomas Jefferson appoints Lewis to be the governor of Louisiana. -
Head of Freemasonry
On this date Merriwether Lewis was named Master of the lodge No. 111 newly created in St. Louis. -
The Death of a Pioneer
On his way back to D.c. he stayed at an Inn. Where he was likely shot and killed by the owner of the Inn.
