    In the 1900s, the population of Mexico is about 13.7 Million. We shall consider this as the initial population number for this project.
  • Mexican Revolution

    Mexican Revolution
    Mexico's population had a steady increase from 1900 to 1909. It wasn't until 1910 that the Mexican Revolution began, which was the start of a long and bloody struggle that lasted until the 1920s. During this time, the population of Mexico was at rest with 15 million occupants. This conflict started due to civilian dissatisfaction with the policies set forth by Porfirio Diaz, a former president of Mexico.
  • Spanish Flu

    Spanish Flu
    Starting from 1918 the Spanish Flu was a global epidemic that caused the deaths of millions. It initially started in France, and the Flu then spread to Spain. After a while reaching Mexico causing 500,000 total deaths. Most of the deaths spiked from mid-1918 to 1919. The government implemented measures like closing borders and disinfecting streets which caused fewer cases and potentially ended the flu. The population continued to be steady at 15.1 Million
  • The Great depression

    The Great depression
    In 1929, Mexico had a population of 17.1 million people. 1929 also spawned the start of The Great Depression, an economic recession that caused many people to lose their jobs and become homeless. It lasted 10 years, from 1929 until 1939. During this time, Mexico's population steadily increased from 17 million people to 20 million—roughly 300,000 people per year.

    Mexico's Growth started to exponentially grow after surviving the Great Depression and maintained a good economy which caused a gradual increase in the population from 27 Million people in 1950 to 67 Million people in the 1980s. Roughly 1.3 million people per year!
  • LDC Debt Crisis

    LDC Debt Crisis
    In 1982-1995 Mexico owed a debt of 80 Billion dollars to various commercial banks operating in the USA. This event caused a decrease in Mexico's growth rate going from 2.6% to 2.06% in those 13 years.
  • Continuation of Growth

    Continuation of Growth
    After the LDC Debt Crisis, the population growth rate continued to decrease, but the population continued to increase from 91 million people in 1995 to 98 million in 2000
  • Stopping Point

    Stopping Point
    Mexico's population continued to grow and at 2010 Mexico had a population of 114 million people. Mexico's population still continues to grow until this very day.
