    The Six Day War, also known as the June war, was fought June 5-10, 1967. The war was the third of Arab-Israel war and Israel was victorious after capturing the Sinai Peninsula, Gaza Strip, West Bank, Old city of Jerusalem, and Golan Heights.

    On March 26th, 1979, a peace treaty was signed between Egypt and Israel at the White House in Washington D.C.. The agreement ended three decades of conflict between Egypt and Israel and established diplomatic and commercial ties.

    Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein made the decision to invade Iran on 22 September 1980, causing an 8 year long war that has devastated both countries. Saddam Hussein claimed the reason for the invasion was territorial dispute over the Shatt al-Arab, the river formed the boundry between the two countires.

    Anwar Sadat Assassinated
    The Egyptian President Anwar Sadat was assassinated by a Muslim extremists who was against his peace agreement with Israel. Hosni Mubarak replaced Anwar Sadat as President.
  • US Peacekeeper Killed in Lebanon

    US Peacekeeper Killed in Lebanon
    Over 200 Marines and other service personal were killed in a truck bombing when a truck loaded with explosives crashed into a US Marine compound at Beirut, Lebanon. Shortly after the bombing the US military withdrew from Lebanon.

    The United states launched an air attack on Libya after a terrorist attack killed a US serviceman in Germany. Tripoli and Benghazi were hit by the attack along with Muammar Qaddafi's headquarters.
  • The USS Stark Incident

    The USS Stark Incident
    Over 30 soldiers were killed and another 30 were injured off Saudi Arabia, Persian Gulf on a U.S. frigate, USS Stark. After being hit by an Iraqi air-to-sea missile and being severely damaged, Iraq claimed that the attack was accidental.
  • Israeli P.M. Yitzchak Rabin Assassinated

    Israeli P.M. Yitzchak Rabin Assassinated
    On November 3rd Yitzhak Rabin, Israel's Prime Minister was assassinated by an Israeli right-wing extremist named Yagil Amir and at the time of the assassination he was also a law student.
  • Mubarak Resigns

    Mubarak Resigns
    On February 12, 2011, Hosni Mubarak, President of Egypt was forced to resign. President Mubarak tried to make concessions to appease the demonstrators. However, his efforts were considered "too little, too late".
  • Jamal Khashoggi Killed By Saudi Security

    Jamal Khashoggi Killed By Saudi Security
    On October 2, 2018, Jamal Khashoggi, a Saudi citizen but US resident, entered the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul. Once in the building he was killed by a team of Saudi Security, his body was then taken out of the building.
