    This is the event that sparked the begining of WWI. The great Prussian states man Otto on Bismarck was responsible. Countries blammed the Serbian government.

    Nettie loved to read. Before she left to go to WWI to be a field nurse she was given a book. Her mother gave her a bood titled "The Three Letters". She read it many times over and over agian.

    The transition from Johns Hopkins hospital to a field hospital. Hospital base #18 is where she was located at.

    (This was during the whole war.) Nettie enojoyed giving and revining letters from her family and friends a lot. Her mother was her favorite person to write to. When she gets a letter from her family, it makes her feel good to read them. She hasnt seen them since she left to nurse.

    Nettie enjoyed working in the field. She enjoyed helping people. It made her feel good when she got to read letters from her family.

    Selective Service Act Was Passed!
    6 weeks after the U.S. entered thw war, Selective service act was passed. It was passed in May of 1917. Russia wthdrew because of an internal revolution.

    The Red Cross is helping the nurses with personal needs. The Y.M.C.A. had also helped eith this. The Red Cross organization was a small organization at the begining of WWI but grew much much bigger by the end of WWI!

    Whenever men would tell Nettie and the other nurses that the women have more bravery then the men, the women would just say "Its our duties". The women said it doesnt take more heroism for them to do what they love/want to do then it does for men.

    The unit that she, Nettie Eurith Trax, found out that there had been three spies found, but the "very good athority" from Baltomore had lied.

    When you go ino war you have one thing on your mind, do you think about who youre killing to get there? You may not even be killing for the same reason someone else is.

    She wrote memiors, which was the hardest week for her. She had a lot of things to do. She got a break to eitr to her mom at this time.

    The war ended at 11:00 am on November 11th, 1918. The war lasted for 4 years until it ended.
