    Joseph Plateau invented the phenakistoscope. The phenakistoscope was made of two disks placed on the same axis, while the first disk only had slits around the egde, the second disk was full of pictures. The disks were spun in oppostie directions and the sequence of pictures was displayed.

    Eadweard Muybridge invented the zoopraxiscope
    A man named Eadweard Muybridge invented a type of motion picture devise, called a zoopraxiscope or 'the wheel of life'. The zoopraxiscope were moving pictures or drawings watched through the slit of the zoopraxiscope.

    Thomas Edison had the diea to combine his Phonograph with Eadweard Muybridge's zoopraxiscope. The new invention showed a series of pictures in motion with sound playing along.
  • Phantoscope was invented

    Charles Francis Jenkins invented the Phantascope, a projector that allowed a still-framed film to be played long enough before moving on to the next frame. It was different from Edison's projector because Edison's only allowed one frame to be plaed repeatedly, unlike Jenkins.
