Members of Black September break into the Olympic Village at around four o'clock in the morning. -
4:30 AM - Terrorists take Israeli athletes hostage
At around four thirty in the morning, the terrorists enter the appartment of the Israeli athletes. They kill two athletes and take nine hostage. -
5:10 AM - Police is notified
At 5:10 AM the police are notified of the terrorists breaking into the Olympic Village. The terrorist drop a list of demands out the window, saying to release 234 prisoners by 9:00 AM -
5 PM - Terrorists request to be flown to Cairo, Egypt.
By five o'clock in the afternoon, negotiatiors were able to buy time. However, the terrorists did not believe that their demands would be met and requested to be flown to Cairo, Egypt. They believed that by flying to Cairo, it would help their demands to be met. The Germans planned to storm the appartment but the terrorists discovered their plan. Another plan was to attack the terrorists on the way to the airport, but met a similar end. -
10:30 PM - Terrorists airlifted to airport
At ten thirty in the evening, the Germans agreed to airlift the terrorist to the Fürstenfeldbruck airport. At a final attempt to stop the terrorists, the Germans decided to accost them and to place snipers at the airport. However, the plan did not go well; all the hostages were killed but three of the terrorists were taken into custody.
