    Leaving Portugal to Explore!

Today is the day, that I am abandoning Portugal. I am following after my ancestors, taking the same path, in order to explore more. As I head southwest, I am prepared, with 13 large ships and 1,200 crewmen. I'm leaving in hopes of finding resources, fun and maybe some unexplored land. Crew members are excited, and supplies are fully stocked. This will be a long journey but well worth it! Off we go!

    Accidents...

Well, here we are. On land. We were caught up in a storm, with nasty wind currents, and according to my calculations, we went farther than intended. We crossed the Atlantic, and bumped into land! Imagine that! I don't know what I shall name this place quite yet, but I'm thinking hard. I'm trying my hardest to be kind to my crew, as we are all in this together. Some crew are sad, and miss home. Others are eager to be home! Food and supplies is steadily declining, but soon a port should arrive!

    Porto Seguro

    Porto Seguro
It's been a couple days since we've discovered this area. It's beautiful and very lively. There's a lot of space, this can not be an island. I have found people, native to here, and have exchanged gifts that I came here to find. I am also getting more needed resources, as some have been running low on the ship. People here are friendly and life is good.

    More stops/ports

    More stops/ports
We are here on some more land, not sure where. Maybe Africa? Still South America? Anyway, I was trying to negociate with their king here, and it did not work. No gifts were exchanged or goods given. Hopefully as we pass on no more problems will occur.

    Storms

It's a bad time on this journey. We have lost 4 ships because of horrible conditons. Men lost, goods lost, whole ships gone. All we have worked for is now lost in the vast ocean. People are sea sick because of the waves, and crew members are dropping like flies. I am trying tmy hardest to keep spirits held high. Some do not know if we will come out alive, but I have full hope. Yes, there is a horrible smell on board, but we are pushing through.

    Here we are, the Anjadip!

    Here we are, the Anjadip!
We have arrived at Anjadip Island, an island used for great trade and recovery which is much needed. This island is talked about quite often, and we are beyond excited to be here.

    Troubles arise

    Troubles arise
We are here in Calicut, baicially a port, as we have been told. And there are many other people that are unfamiliar to us. We are just going along our way, when we are surprise attacked. Goods were lost once again, and trade was cut off. Even some crew were killed. What a depressing day for all, and it sitll hasn't stopped.

    Still continueing on..

It's almost November and we are still exploring, getting ready to head back home. We are drained, and filled with fatigue as this trip is starting to take it's toll. We have a lack of sleep, less food than ever, and the weather is getting cooler. We all want to head back home, but me being the captain, need to keep trudging on.

    Reaching Kochi

    Reaching Kochi
As we are neaing the end, I forgot about a stop in Kochi. This city is rich in culture and goods, and should be a great place to refresh, replenish, and relax. The countdown until we get back to Portugal has begun.

    Long time no talk..!

Well here we are! Ending our journey and we couldn't be happier. There have been terrible rough patches, but somehow we are still okay and moving. We should be home anyday now and we are getting very anxious. Many ships fully loaded with cargo have been lost, as well as crew who have families waiting.
