My Life

  • My Birth

    My Birth
My life began at birth. Unfortunately, I arrived unexpectedly and rather suddenly. I was born at 29 weeks in Good Samaritan Regional Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. I was in the NICU for over a month.
  • Welcome Little Brother

    Welcome Little Brother
The second biggest moment in my life was the birth of my little brother Nick. He was born on December 16, 2002 at University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. This was the day I became a big sister.
  • My Father was Deported

    My Father was Deported
My biological father, Jesse, was deported in 2004. This has affected me greatly. As of now we don't have a relationship, but this was still a very significant moment in my life.
  • Isabel Moves to Douglas

    Isabel Moves to Douglas
The fourth biggest change in my life was one of the happiest. My older cousin, Isabel, moved to Douglas in the summer of 2009. Because of this, we became very close and she is the most important person in my life.
  • Met Karina and Courtney

    Met Karina and Courtney
In August of 2009, I began 5th grade at Stevenson Elementary. During my 5th grade I met Karina and Courtney; we became friends. Today, they are two of the most important people in my life.
  • Sophia's Born!

    Sophia's Born!
The sixth moment in my life was the birth of my little cousin, Sophia. After she was born I began baby sitting her and discovered my love of working with children. Prior to this I knew I wanted to work in the medical field and deiced to become a pediatrician. Sophia is like my little sister and I love her very much!
  • Beginning of 7th Grade

    Beginning of 7th Grade
The seventh biggest change was coincidentally in seventh grade but I didn't know it was coming. This is when I met S. S later became a very huge part of my life. Within the school year we became best friends and developed a meaningful friendship; one the closest relationships of my life, which made what happened later on every more shocking and hurtful.
  • Rough Patch

    Rough Patch
The eighth moment in my life was the most life changing it was during the summer of seventh grade and it was the lowest point I had ever reached. After this I didn't know how to react and quickly fell into denial. I suppressed my anger, anxiety, depression and fear. I internally struggled with flashbacks, negative thoughts and quickly began failing in school. I stopped modeling and cheer leading and fell into an eating disorder as a coping method.
  • Moved to Phoenix

    Moved to Phoenix
The ninth moment happened after my parents noticed the difference in my grades, appearance, personality, and overall behavior. My mother was obviously concerned and thought it was best I get away from Douglas for a while so I moved to Phoenix and lived with my Grandmother. It was here that I began to fully process and feel what had happened. It took me three years to completely process, feel, and begin to move passed what had happened
  • Working on my Goals

    Working on my Goals
Lastly, the tenth moment, is now. I am trying to pick up the pieces and as a result of my adverse reaction, my grades have suffered greatly. My top priority is doing my best in high school as I try to improve my GPA and make up for my negligence toward academics. I have more motivation than ever and still plan on becoming a pediatrician while specializing in pediatric emergency medicine.
