Learning how to read
Until i was 5, my parents assumed I knew how to read because I was very good storyteller, that all changed when my mom told me to read a billboard and I couldn't. This led to my parents finally teaching me how to read.This event is important because it marks the beginning of traditional literacy. -
My first Presentation
In the 4th grade I had to give a digital presentation of my culture and heritage of my country which is Nigeria. This was the first time I had to do something like that, it was my first time doing something like that. This was the first time where I had to give a visual presentation in my life, this was my first experience for visual literacy. -
Eragon
This was the first book that I would call one of my favorites. Even thou it was kinda of hard to read when I was younger, I still found the book very interesting and captivating. Because of the book I now have a bigger interest in reading books -
Interest in books
When I was in the 5th grade, my school started something like a reward program to encourage us to read more from the library often; after we read the book and proved that we read it we were given points that we could use at the end of the year to buy toys and other things. This program was what basically started my interest in books.This futher help develop my reading skills. -
First Phone
My very first phone was a motorola flip phone, I didn't really like it becasue almost everyone else in my grade had a better phone. Even though I didn't like it, I was still glad I had it because it was easy to use and durable.This phone was important to me because it was what help me to know start my digital literacy. -
My First Laptop
When I got my first laptop I was excited even though it was a hand me down. The laptop finally gave me access to the interent which I have I wanted for a long time. The laptop was important for my digital literacy. -
Making a music video
In my drama class we were put into groups who had to make a lip sync video to a popular song and my group chose War which was used in rush hour. This project helped me to develop my visual literacy significantly. -
Joining Facebook
This is when I finally joined Facebook, so that I could keep in touch with my friends when I moved back to Nigeria. This is important to me because it was when I finally had social media account. -
My first play
This was the first play I was ever in during middle school. It helped me develop my visual literacy.
