My Personal Literacy Timeline

  • Love You Forever- Robert Munsch

My mother said she read this book to me every single night since she brought me home from the Hospital. I can remember her reading me this all the way up until Junior High. This book is very touching and I think I will read it to my kids someday.
  • Goodnight Moon- Margaret Wise Brown

I can vividly remember my mother reading this story to me as well. This story is one of the most popular and remains one of my favorites still to this day.
  • Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See- Bill Martin Jr.

I can remember this book very well. I think it was more of a song that I would sing in my head after the first couple of times reading it.
  • Diary of a Wimpy Kid

I remember for Christmas on my 10th birthday I got all the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books that were out at the time. I remember everyone in school thought I was so cool.
  • Diary of a Wimpy Kid Rodrick Rules

Another Diary of a Wimpy kid book and this one was my absolute favorite out of all of them.
  • Diary of a Wimpy Kid Dog Days

I read all the Diary of a Wimpy kid books in order, so after I finished Rodrick Rules, Dog Days was next and it was perfect timing as Summer was just around the corner.
  • Diary of a Wimpy Kid Last Straw

I do recall that I would almost never read a big chapter book over the summer as I was always either outside, or traveling for Baseball games. Once school started back up I began reading the next Diary of a Wimpy Kid book, The last straw.
  • Diary of A Wimpy Kid Ugly Truth

This book I remember that I didn't own personally, but one of my friends let me read it after they finished it. I remember being so excited, but they took forever to finish so I could get it next.
  • Diary of a Wimpy Kid Cabin Fever

The last Diary of a Wimpy Kid book that I would read. I remember almost being sad after I finished it because nobody knew if there was going to be another or not.
  • The Hunger Games

I remember when I got into Junior High, everyone was talking about the Hunger Game series and I could not wait to get my hands on them. They were probably my favorite book I read throughout High School
  • Hunger Game's Catching Fire

I remember reading the Hunger Game series in Reading class and that they took me forever to read because I only had 45 minutes in that class and only like 20 minutes to read a day.
  • Hunger Games Mocking Jay

Probably my least favorite of the Hunger Games series, but still a great read.
  • The Giver

This books was a book we had to read together in school and I just remember almost hating it because I could not understand what was going on until I watched the movie.
  • After

One of my most recent reads. The After series. A little different from what I mostly read. My girlfriend at the time really wanted these books for Valentines Day so I got her them and she said I had to read them and they were actually pretty good.
  • After We Collided

The second book of the After Series and I remember reading this on the Plane Ride to California.
  • After We Fell

The third book of the After series I still have yet to read the other two, but I can't wait to see what happens to Hardin and Tessa.
  • Ender's Game

The absolute most confusing book I probably have ever read in High School, but the ending really caught me off guard
  • The Great Gatsby

Another book that I had to read during School and I actually really enjoyed this one. I was a little confused as to what was going on, but I ended up really liking it.
  • American Sniper

The American Sniper book, my Dad bought when the movie came out and he read it before we went and I never got a chance to read it. Once I finally felt mature enough to read it I loved it and this is probably my Favorite book so far.
  • Lone Survivor

After I read American Sniper I was hooked on military combat books. The Lone Survivor story is also one of my favorite reads of all time as I have read the book more than once.
  • The Operator

The Operator a book about the mission that Killed Osama Bin Laden, The man behind the 9/11 attacks. This book is really good and I would put it on my top 10 of all time.
  • The Way of the Wolf

Right when the pandemic hit I found myself very bored so I went online and bought a book that caught my interest about Jordan Belford.
