McGuffey Readers
My first memory of reading was with a McGuffey Reader. These readers date back into the 1800's. These were the books we had at our house to practice reading.

Little Red Riding Hood was read to me often, it was one of my favorites books. Once I knew the story I would tell my mother what was going to happen next. -

I can remember reading this to my mother in her bathroom while she was getting ready to go out with my dad. It was rare that I was able to get alone time with my mom. I had an older sister and a younger brother, so anytime we could be alone with our mother was special. -

Johnny Appleseed was a fun memory for me in school. I discovered what a folktale was and the teacher included us in the discussion during class time. -
The Boxcar Children
This book changed my life. I loved everything about it. I thought it was the most interesting book I had ever read. The idea that children could live out on their own was fasinating. -
Charlotte's Web
I loved this story so much that I read to my chilren as soon as they could understand the story. This story brought to life animals talking. -
A Tale of Two Cities
I was in high school and we had to read this over Christmas break. I was not happy with the teacher, but I did like the story. -
Gentle Rogue
I discovered romance novels on a trip to Mexico. They are exteremly entertaining and silly. I would sit for hours on the sandy beaches listening to the waves roll in while I read my book. Pure Heaven! -
Magic School Bus
One of my all time favorites when I started reading to my children. They had a series of books and it was fun to read what was going to happen next. -

Guinness Book of World Records
My oldest son did not like to read, so I needed to find something that he would enjoy reading about. That is when we discovered Guinness Book of World Records. He would read it everynight, mission accomplished. -
Harry Potter
This was the last book I read with my youngest son. We would cuddle on his bed and I would read to him before he went to sleep. Miss those days, now I read to my grandbabies.
