My Reading History

  • First learned to read

    First learned to read
I remember learning to read using leveled book. I liked it because it became a challenge to me to get to the next level. It motivated me to keep reading. I got to the point where I was a good reader; however, my comprehension was poor.
  • First chapter book

    First chapter book
I red my first chapter book ; however I did not enjoy it. I think this is because I wasn't interested because it was assigned to the whole class. I also would get frustrated because I wouldn't be able to answer questions at the end of a chapter. This is because I never would comprehend what I was reading.
  • First chapter book on my own

First chapter book on my own
The first chapter book I read on my own I actually enjoyed because it was funny and had action and suspense. Once I figured out the type of book I liked I couldn't put them down. Janet Evonovich's One For the Money was the first chapter book that I actually read cover to cover and understood.
  • Holes

    Holes
This was the first book that was assigned to the entire class that I enjoyed reading. I enjoyed reading it because of the action in the book.
  • Of Mice and Men

    Of Mice and Men
This was a book that actually motivated me to begin reading the books I was assigned instead of "spark noting" them. I didn't think I would like the book but halfway through one of the chapters I found that I couldn't put it down.
  • Twilight Saga

    Twilight Saga
As the twilight movies were coming out I decided to read the Twilight series even though it wasn't my normal top of book. I was usually into suspense, comedy, and romance books but I always veered away from sic-fi books. I ended up reading the whole series in 3 months.
  • Found Lisa Jackson

    Found Lisa Jackson
Lisa Jackson became my new favorite author. Her books are so intriguing and I found myself unable to put them down. Reading a book a day, I finished he books very quickly and began reading books by authors like her.
  • Whiskey series

    Whiskey series
After binging on thriller and suspense novels, I decided I wanted to read some more comedic novels. I had already read all of Janet Evonovich's books so I went in search of an author similar to her. Thats when I found Liliana Hart's Whiskey series. It is thrilling, suspenseful, romantic, and comedic all in one!
  • The Ninth Ward

    The Ninth Ward
This was the first non-fiction book I read and couldn't put down. I didn't think I would want to read a non-fiction book but I learned so much from this book! It really makes the reader think about life and how others live.
  • A Long Walk to Water

    A Long Walk to Water
This is the last book I read. After reading and enjoying The Ninth Ward, I decided to give A Long Walk to Water a shot. It was a very great non-fiction book that I learned a lot from.
