Being born is the most important part of my life. I was born on October 20, 1997 in Tyler, Texas. The first person to hold me was my grandmother and she cried. this day was my first day to the rest of my life. (Literally.) -

My parents got divorced
When my parents got divorced, I was way too young to understand what that meant or how it would make me feel in the future. The divorce set the tone for the rest of my childhood. The divorce of my parents became a bigger part of my life the older I grew. -
Moved to Arizona
My mom remarried to a man named Chris and my brother and I were toted off to Tucson, Arizona. In this desert, we moved around a few times before settling down into the house we have now lived in for a decade. Moving to a different state completely changed my perspective on people and schools. -
My Older brother moved away
When my brother turned 16, he was caught smoking illegal substances in his room upstairs. I was 9 at the time and I remember all of the yelling and fighting. This day is one of the biggest reasons I have decided to not participate in any drug activities ever. When he moved away, i basically became an only child. -
My little brother was born
I felt like an only child until the next year when my baby brother was born. When I first saw his face, i was so amazed at how purple he was. For the first couple of days I looked at him and all I could think about was how his face was so purple. Without my baby brother, life would have been a lot easier, but I am so glad he was born. -
My grandmother died
When my great grandmother died, it shook the entire family. She was basically the roots of our family and when the roots are removed from the tree, the whole tree comes falling down. My mom and I went to Texas to go to her funeral. This was my first ever funeral and I remember looking down at her face in the casket and thinking about how still and calm she was. -
First day of highschool
No matter what anyone says, the first day of high school is a teenager's biggest fear. I was so anxious to start high school and knowing that I would make so many new friends was exciting and frightening at the same time. High school has a way of changing everyone into the person they will stay for the rest of their lives. -
Started dating my boyfriend
In 2014 I started dating my boyfriend James. We both worked together and we have learned to love each other and help each other through all our money and school problems. Without this backbone of support, I don't think I would have been as successful as I have been. -
Bought my first car
I had a car before I turned 15 but it was really old. So in 2014, I bought my new car. It is a Toyota Corolla named, 'Lola'. I was so proud of myself for being able to pay for my own car. Buying this car showed myself as well as my parents that I am able to take on responsibilities. -
Became an adult
Just recently, i turned 18. This is a huge milestone in every lifetime and I felt accomplished to reach this level in my life. I immediately registered to vote and I automatically felt like a upstanding citizen.
