  • Concordat

    Napoleon ended the breach caused by the church reforms and defined the Roman Catholic Church.
  • Coup D’état (Becoming Dictator)

    Napoleon was rapidly rose through the military ranking in France. In 1799 he gained a lot of political power and in 1804 he crowned himself emperor.
  • Napoleonic Code

    The Napoleonic Code was a set of laws the covered family, colonial affairs, individual right, and property. Theses laws were created when Napoleon became emperor.
  • Napoleon crowned as Emperor

    At the Notre Dame Cathedral in France, Napoleon Bonaparte crowned himself emperor. He was the first Frenchman to be called emperor in a thousand years.
  • Conquering of Europe

    Napoleon conquered much of Europe during his time of reign. However, he did have many faliures along the way. Those eventually lead up the fall of Napoleon.
  • Continental System

    The continental system hurt England a lot it slowed down there manufacturing system, and left a lot of people unemployed. It hurt France in someways to. Just not as much as it hurt England. England soon responded to it.
  • Invasion of Russia

    The invasion of Russia was when Napoleon tried to go and invade Russia. This was a big mistake. Napoleons troops were almost wiped out by food shortage, attacks from the Russians, freezing temperatures, and any more things. This was the beginning of the end for Napoleon.
  • The Hundred Days

    Napoleon lead troops to to Paris to fight King Louis XVIII. He wanted to defeat the king. He did not like the king.
  • Waterloo

    In Waterloo this was were Napoleon was defeated. This brought an end to the Napoleonic era. He started suffering significant defeats starting in 1812.
  • Accomplishments of Napoleon

    Napoleon accomplished a lot of things for France. He helped create a stable government for France again. He also built a huge and powerful army for France. He made France one of the most powerful countries in Europe. He also put the Napoleonic Code in play. This limited the people's freedom of speech, it also limited women's rights. He sold land that France owned in America so that he could get more money to fight other countries for land. This was called the Louisiana Purchase.
