    It was a series of battles the French in Italians took part in. It took place in various locations around northern Italy. It was a success because the French ended up winning.
  • Egyptian Campaign (Yellow)

    The French sent many soldiers in to Egypt because Napoleon wanted to learn more about Egyptians. It is partially a failure because he didn’t learn much information about Egyptians.
  • Consulate (Green)

    This improved the French government in terms of efficiency and made it so it could function for a long time. The Consulate also abolished the class system. It was a total success.
  • Concordat of 1801 (Green)

    Concordat of 1801 (Green)
    This document was the result of Pope Pius and Napoleon agreeing on Catholicism in France. This was a success because Napoleon could now control French Catholics and Rome.
  • Consul for Life (Green)

    After Napoleons success as a general he changed to a political figure. He overthrew the Consulate and named himself Consul for life. This is a success because it gave Napoleon a lot of power.

    The Napoleonic Code was a set of laws he imposed.

    One of the good things it did was it improved laws concerning property and colonial affairs. It did however strip women of their individual rights.

    After becoming the Consul for Life, Napoleon got enough power to become emperor. He placed the crown on his own head and he had overwhelming support from the French people
  • Battle of Trafalgar (Red)

    The French wanted to enter the Mediterranean but the British stopped them at Trafalgar. The French lost 19-20 ships and 14,000 men.
  • Abolished Holy Roman Empire (Green)

    Napoleon abolished the Holy Roman Empire and replaced it with the Confederation of the Rhine. This subsequently ended years of war and gained a lot of power for Napoleon and France.
  • Continental System (Red)

    When France lost the Battle of Trafalgar they felt they needed to strike back by cutting off British ports. The British did the same to them. In the end Britain was largely unaffected but prices around Europe rose which caused more French resentment.
  • Resistance in Spain (Yellow)

    France was trying to take control of Spain. Spain resisted and took part guerrilla warfare against the French. In the end it kept French Troops in Spain when Napoleon needed them elsewhere.
  • Invasion of Russia (Red)

    When the tsar withdrew his support for the Continental system Napoleon assembled the Grand Army. They entered Russia with 600,000 men and were chased out with only 20,000.
  • Battle of Nations at Leipzig (Red)

    Russia, Britain, Austria, and Prussia made an alliance. Together they defeated France at the Battle of Nations at Leipzig
  • Abdication (Red)

    Napoleon was forced to step down and banished to Elba.
  • Hundred Days (Green)

    After people became unhappy with Louis XVIII, Napoleon escaped exile and gained massive support as Louis XVIII fled.
  • Waterloo (Red)

    Waterloo (Red)
    British and Prussian forces battled Napoleon one last time. He was defeated and exiled to St. Helena which was where he would die.
