    Italian Campaign (Green)

    Napoleon led his army into Italy outnumbered. He was going against the Australians and the Piedmontese. He goal was to separate them and then fight one at a time. They won with the Piedmontese and the Australians retreated so Napoleon took over.

    The Egyptian Campaign (Yellow)

    Napoleon wanted to know more about the world and wanted more power. So he wanted to take over Egypt. He sailed to Egypt took over Malta and won the battle of Pyramids. He won a couple more battles and then left some solideres there to protect it. They eventually surrendered. He turned the Campaign into a political statement but technically did not actually win.

    The consulate is the highest power of government in France. They made decisions on causing rebellion and normalizing relations with the church. Napoleon decided he was going to fight as citizen with his army. He began in rise in consulate and became first consul.

    “Banque de France” is also known as the bank of France. During the time Napoleon’s reign the bank was founded in an attempt to fix debt. It allows many monopolies to take place. The bank is still a thing today.

    This was the agreement with the Pope for power. Christianity would be the main religion for land and power.

    Napoleon Named himself consul for life because he wanted to keep control forever. This Guaranteed his son a spot as the first council when he died.

    This was the civilian codes for the French. It granted more equality for men, brought back slavery and took away women’s rights. It is still in place to this day however, it has many amendments.

    Napoleon took the crown from the Pope and put it on his own head. He also used fake relics because the owner would not let him borrow them.

    A navel battle on the coast of Spain that was a fail for the French. Nelson (British) had 27 battleships and the French had 33. Even with more ships the French still lost. This allows British to claim to spot of best sea power for years.

    France won over the Empire when Francis II gave up his title and documents. The only thing he asked was to make Christianity the main religion. (It already was) They took over the land and it was never seen again.

    The Continental System was a attempt to get British to become weak enough to take over. So France closed all European Ports going to Britain. However this did not succeed and they both just did not trade with each other.

    Resistance in Spain (Red)

    The Resistance in Spain was a successful attempt at using the French forces in Spain to fight with Portugal instead of themselves. During this time there was an uprising of people that called themselves “Guerrillas”. They attacked French supply lines and communication lines.

    Invasion of Russia (Red)

    The invasion of Russia started with over 600,000 solideres. The French invaded but the Russians just kept retreating and burning all the useful reassures. By the time the French got to Moscow they were down to 100,000 men and hidden even seen Russians. When they got to Moscow the Russians nipped off men while they retreated home in defeat. They were unprepared for the winter and lack of Resources. They returned home with 10,000 men.

    Also called Battle of the Nations.This was the end defeat for France in Germany and Poland. After Napoleon retreated in Russia he went for Germany. This failed and cost him all of his power east of the Rhine. It was also the most severe of the Napoleonic Wars .

    They Hundred day was the War fought during the time period between Napoleon’s exiles. He attempted to take back over but instead got re-exiled at Waterloo.

    Waterloo was the last battle of Napoleon’s time. After he escaped form exile he attempted to continue gaining land and power. He was put to stop at Waterloo and was exiled for good on St Helena.
