    R.B. Bennett
    Bennett was elected in the thick of the Great Depression. One of his decisions were to put men in labour camps. His tenure as the prime minister was one of the least successful because he promised to spend money that the government didn't have.
  • J.S. Woodsworth

    J.S. Woodsworth
    Helped lead the Winnipeg general strike and was arrested. Was frustrated by government's failure to help people during the depression.
  • William Lyon Mackenzie King

    William Lyon Mackenzie King
    Mackenzie King became prime minister when the economy was back on an upswing. He helped Canada become whole again by working with the French Canadians who felt like they deserved more
  • Charles Merritt

    Charles Merritt
    In his battalion Charles Merritt lead his troops to provide support to the troops raiding Dieppe. Him and his troops landed on the far side and had to travel over a cliff to get to Dieppe. They were attacked by machine gun fire but they pushed through. Him and 8 other soldiers from his battalion were prisoners. He later broke free. He was awarded the Victoria's Cross.
  • Captain Paul Triquet

    Captain Paul Triquet
    He was a captain of the royal 22 regiment. In Casa Berardi, Italy when most of his officers and soldier were killed him and his remaining squad rushed forward to take the outer line of Casa Berardi. Triquet and his squad overwhelmed by thousands of soldiers held on until a battalion came and retrieved them. He was awarded the Victoria's Cross
  • Ernest "Smokey" Smith

    Ernest  "Smokey" Smith
    Under heavy fire from enemy tanks from across the Savio River Private Smith led his P.I.A.T (weapon) across the open battle field into a better position for taking down a tank. He fired the weapon and after 10 Germans came out and challenged him. Private Smith took out all 10 with his Tommy Gun. He was awarded the Victoria's Cross
