    British Industrialization

    SourceStarting with the invention of the spinning jenny, a machine that spins multiple threads of fabric rather than just one, the Industrialization of Britain had began. Throughout this time many new machines were invented and Britain became an industrial powerhouse. This influenced other countries to to do the same. The revolution lasted many decades lasting well into the late 1800's.

    Haitian Revolution

    SourceOn August 22, 1791, slaves in the French colony of St. Dominique launched a massive slave rebellion. This event started the long fight for Haiti's independence. Another effect that came from this rebellion was that the French government abolished slavery in hopes to keep conflicts from occuring. After the abolishment of slavery, General Toussaint L'Ouverture asserted his authority and helped rid Haiti of both Spanish and British influence. A Constitution was established in 1801.

    Opium Wars

    SourceThe Opium Wars of China and Britain caused many conflicts. Britain was forcing China to accept Opium as payment for the recources they acquired from the colonies. These wars took place in China because the Chinese did not want Ooium in return for their gold and silver. After these wars, China was in an epidemic due to opium addiction. This all happened at the height of Imperialism. The first war was from 1839-1842. The second war was from 1856-1860, and France sided with Britain for this event.

    Meiji Restoration

    SourceIn 1868 Tokugawa Shogun lost power, and the emperor was restored power. He took the name Meiji for restoration. He focused on restoring Japan's economy and social system. During the Meiji Restoration, the Samurai lost power. All social classes became equal. A consitution instituting an elected parliament came into place, the transportation and communication systems were well developed, a higher educated population and an updated industrial system all came into place during the Meiji Restoration,

    France-Prussian War

    SourceAfter Prussia defeated Austria, Napolean of France thought Prussia was getting too powerful and decided to try and change that. the French attacked Prussian troops, but by September 1870, Prussia had fought their way to Paris. Prussia ended up capturing Paris, and soon after that France surrendered. This war ended up uniting Germany from many different colonies into one independent country because France surrendered some of their colonies.
