    FOODS TO AVOID:
    -Caffeine
    -Raw meat
    -Poultry
    -Seafood
    Special Nurition Needs:
    -71 mg of protein
    -100 mg of calcium
    -600 mg of folic acid
    -27 mg of iron
    -During pregnancy you should choose a diet that includes a variety of nutritious foods, including 8 to 10 glasses of water a day.
  • Infancy

    -Honey
    -Peanut Butter
    -Any type of nuts
    -Acidic fruits
    -Corn
    Special Nutritional Needs:
    -Human milk and formula have all the nutrients your baby needs for the first 6 months, such as protein, fats, carbohydrate, vitamins and minerals
    - Babies can regulate the amount of nutrition they need by taking more or less milk.
  • Toddler

    -Large peices of meats
    -Seeds
    -Popcorn
    -Chips
    -Nuts
    -Marshmallows
    Special Nutritional Needs:
    -In order for your child to get these nutrients, you should provide meals with essential nutrients in a small portion and serve it frequently during the day
    - Some food groups include dairy, veggies, grains and cereal,fruits,etc.
  • Preschool

    -Large chunks of food
    -Small, hard foods
    -Soft, sticky foods
    Special Nutritional Needs:
    -You should provide your child with three regular meals and two-three small, nutritious snacks.
    - Examples are:
    -Pancakes
    -Cherry tomatoes
    -Cubes of cheese
    -Fruit and milk smoothie

    -sugary drinks

    -Always serve breakfast. You can include fruit, milk,bagel,cheese toast,cereal,and a peanut butter sandwich
    - You should Set good examples for eating habits and allow children to help with meal planning and preparation.
  • Teen-aged

    -Stewed or jellied fruits ( have tons of sugar)
    -High-sugar fruit and soda drinks.
    -Full-fat cheese, milk.
    -Anything thats fried
    -High sugar items (ice cream, cookies, brownies, cakes)
    Special Nutritional Needs:
    - Teenagers gain about 20% of adult height and 50% of adult weight around this age.
    - Growth and change is rapid during this period, the requirements for all nutrients increase. Calcium and iron increase the most.

    -Homemade Caesar salad dressing and mayonnaise
    -Uncooked cake batter and cookie dough
    -Poached eggs, eggs Benedict, undercooked (runny) scrambled eggs
    -Raw or undercooked seafood,fish,poultry

    -Calcium plays many roles in the body. It builds and maintains strong bones.
    -Folate/Folic Acid
    -Vitamin B12

    -Cold meats
    -Raw or runny eggs
    -Some soft cheeses
    -Sushi
    Special Nutritional Needs:
    -Meet nutrient needs on fewer calories.
    -Eat a variety of nutritious foods.
    -Eat more dietary fiber.
    -Consume enough fluids.
