    Trail of Tears
    Trail of Tears was a journey the Cherokee people and other indian tribes had to take because of Andrew Jackson Indian removal policy. The year it started happening was in 1838. The Cherokee people lived east of the Mississippi river but then the tribe was forced to move to Oklahoma territory. The indians had to walk thousand of miles on foot, the tribes faced hunger, diseases, and exhaustion.

You would usually get caught and shot right when someone sees you.

    Oklahoma became a state on November 16, 1907. It capital is Oklahoma City with a population of 610,613. The quarter features the state bird, Scissortail Flycatcher, and the bird is flying over the state's wild flower, the Indian Blanket. A well known nickname that was given to Oklahoma was the panhandle state because of its narrow piece of land that looks like it should be apart of Texas, it used to be unclaimed so people called it no man's land.

    The Dust Bowl
    The Dust Bowl occurred in the 1930s, it was a terrible time to be living in Colorado, Kansas, Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma because of the Dust Bowl. The Dust Bowl was severe dust storms that gradually damaged the ecology. The cause of this was because of severe drought and bad farming choices. But after almost a decade the weather changed, farmers got their jobs back, but lots of people fled to California while the Dust bowl was happening.

  • Oklahoma City Bombing

    Oklahoma City Bombing
    The Oklahoma City Bombing happened on April 19, 1995, it was a truck exposition that hit a building in Oklahoma City, which left 168 people dead and more than 100 injured. Timothy McVeigh was responsible for the bombing, he did it because of built up angry that he had against the US federal government. Timothy McVeigh was executed for his crime on June 11, 2001.
