Short Term Goals
-
Propose our program to the SAA
Create a proposal for the SAA including survey results and primary research conducted. Present that there is a demand for a peer mentoring program at Georgia Tech and how we would inculcate our program with the SAA and also how this would benefit the Georgia Tech Strategic Plan. -
Create an SAA Committee
Create a committe within the SAA that would oversee marketing of the program, selection of mentors, engaging freshaman and creating pairs. Also would serve as a go to group for the SAA to ask about progress of the program and if the program is on track to acheive the long term goal of a self-sustaining program. -

Midterm Goals
-
Market our Program
WIth the help of the SAA Peer Mentoring Program Committee, we would market our organization throughout the campus, via social media, emails, and tabling. We would also present our club at the annual College of Business club blitz. -
Conduct Mentor Application/Selection Process
After advertising our program, creating an application for students to become mentors and also conducting interviews to select the best mentors for the incoming freshman class. -
Train Selected Mentors
Create a program that trains mentors to be effective in getting freshman the academic advice they need as well as encouraging them to participate in other activities. Notify mentors that they are not a replacement to professionals like advisors or counselors but rather a confidant that a younger student can look up to. -
Send out Questionnaire
Send out a questionnaire to the incoming freshman class asking them about their interests, their high school academic history, and other basic information to pair them with a mentor. -
Create an efficient system to match mentors and mentees
Create a system that matches the mentors and mentees in the most effective manner. -
Have the First Class of Mentees and Mentors
Have our first class of mentors and mentees. Our program does not set requirements on the number of times the pair meets, but rather is on a basis of friendship and peer help. -

Long Term Goals
-
Evaluate First Class
It is important to see where our program stands in its effectiveness of being resourceful as a goal in the Georgia Tech Strategic Plan. In the research conducted there are many test that can be used to test how effective our program is and we will conduct these tests to measure our program's effectiveness. -
Growing the SAA Network
In the future we hope that more students participate in the program and that students that were mentees apply to be mentors and expand the SAA network. -
Self-Sustaining Program
Our main long term goal is that by creating this program we want to see that mentees become mentors and that mentors become alumni mentors which in turn expand the Georgia Tech network. This can help enrich our students to be better prepared and thus then make a long-lasting global impact.
