Margo doesn't show up for a few more days so Q and his friends start looking for clues she left behind. -
More clues
From the clues they find, they believe Margo committed suicide. -
Graduation
The group of friends skip graduation and drive to New York to get more clues. -
Finding Margo
They find Margo in an old storage building. -
Explanation
Margo explains to them that she was planning on leaving after graduation but the whole boyfriend cheating on her situation really pushed her over the edge. -

Q and Margo bury her black notebook and lay out and talk about paper towns and paper people -
The end
Knowing that nothing would happen between Margo and Q because they were both headed in different directions, Q kisses Margo in the parking lot before she goes.
