His direct impact of change was when he conquered Gaul, expanding the Roman Empire. Caesar was exceptionally courageous and determined when it came to leadership, as well as taking risks in order to get the desired results.

    Marco Polo

    Explorer and writer. Marco Polo made explorations to East Asia and opened trade routes to East India and China. This allowed for goods to be sold and accessed by many. Polo helped establish connections between the East and West. Due to his curiosity and advanced skills, Marco changed the world by breaking barriers and promoting world trade. I chose this leader for his keen curiosity and desire to explore the world!

  • Galileo Galilei

    Astronomer and engineer. Galilei created one of the first telescopes, which allowed new astronomical discoveries to be made. His scientific discoveries have helped lay the foundation for science and our education today. After his discoveries, our understanding for space grew, and ultimately more scientific discoveries following his lifetime were made because of his work. I selected Galileo for his bold and fearless way of speaking about his passion.

  • Benjamin Franklin

    Inventor and Founding Father. Benjamin Franklin lead through his passion for knowledge and science. While he only had two years of proper schooling, he persevered and sought after his theories, which eventually paid off when he founded the lightening rod and bifocals, amongst many other inventions. He stated, "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." He lead by example, encouraging others to never stop trying.

  • Abraham Lincoln

    16th President of the U.S. Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation that freed the lives of slaves. Lincoln lead the country with kindness and honesty, which ultimately him to be one of the most influential and trustworthy presidents of our country. This leader is still influential to this day, which shows his everlasting impact.

  • Rosa Parks

    Civil Rights Activist. Rosa Parks was a member of the NAACP and actively worked towards equal rights. Upon her arrest in 1955, she showed tremendous bravery and dedication to fight for what was right and end segregation. Her actions were monumental for the world, as the Montgomery Bus Boycott resulted from her arrest. She made an impact in society and within the world and helped pass the Jim Crow Laws as unconstitutional in 1956. I admire her strength and drive to stand up for what is right.
  • Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

    Civil Rights Activist. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a pastor who was also a strong member of the NAACP, striving for equal rights for people of all races. Through numerous boycotts and peaceful protests, Dr. King was arrested over 25 times in order to stand up for what was right. Dr. King's "I Have a Dream" speech was the driving change for the civil rights movement, passing the 1964 Civil Rights Act. I selected MLK Jr. for his perseverance and passion to make a difference.

  • Blake Lively (Reynolds)

    Actress and activist. In May 2017, Blake spoke alongside the Child Rescue Coalition in regards to child human trafficking. I selected Blake as an influential leader, as her bravery and courage are unmatched. Being a Hollywood icon, she risks her career and public scrutiny to speak out against this very prevalent issue, and stresses the lack of awareness of child trafficking in the world. It is her popularity that is encouraging people to take action and fight against child exploitation.
  • Future Prediction 2035

    I predict that the driving change in leadership in 15 years will be adaptability. As COVID-19 has impacted organizations and companies worldwide, leaders recognize that today's environment and circumstances are not promised tomorrow. Leaders must be equipped with the skills to adapt the functioning of his or her organization quickly and efficiently. The better prepared leaders are at leading remotely, the smoother transition they will have as the world adapts.
  • Future Prediction 2050

    I predict that generational differences in management will greatly impact leadership come 2050. The young people of today will find themselves in leadership roles, which will inevitably decipher how organizations and companies function. With many young people concerned about sustainability and global awareness, innovation will be at the forefront of many leader's minds.
