War Heroes
An example of a man who preformed an almost unreal feat, Roy Benavides, was a man who preformed a heroic act. He acted with valor and determination risking his own life, with a slim chance of survival, inorder to save 8 of his comrades and defend his nation. -
Peace Core, A Heroic Cause
Mrs. Simmons interviewed a past student who joined the Peace Corps. During the interview I realized that some people, such as those serving in the Peace Corps, who donate themselves to a heroic cause, sacrificing the luxuries of life, are also heroes. -
Alexander Hamilton
At a dinner table discussion, I was talking with my father about Benjamin Franklin and his definition of a hero. He suggested Alexander Hamilton to me, as he had already read his biography and autobiography. I decided that since, I had been doing projects on Benjamin Franklin since 2nd grade, I would give him some thought. -
Heroic Relatives: Interview
After hearing about Kristi Quillen and her Peace Corps experience, I decided to call my Aunt and Uncle, who served and met in the Peace Corps in the Indonesian islands. We talked formally and I realized that while the cause was heroic and the people dedicated to it were noble, not every peace corps member was a hero. -
Alexander Hamilton: A Deeper Look
After reading a "kiddy book" on Alexander Hamilton at the library, much to Mrs. Simmons' disappointment, and the summary of his very interesting life on Wikipedia, I had come to my conclusion. Alexander Hamilton had sacrificed his childhood, and dedicated his life to founding this Nation in his quest to "make a difference in the world." During his life he also fought in battle as part of George Washington's army and led part of it as a general. Hamilton met all my criteria to be a hero. -
Why I Chose My Hero
During the rough draft of my essay, I put great thought into what really made a hero, Up until this point, My definition has been a little vague. His self sacrfice did not go unnoticed and he inspired and concieved the greatest nation's economy from his own mind. He was dedicated, determined, and courageous. Without a doubt, Alexander Hamilton is a hero. -
Heroes in Literature
As I was brainstorming for ideas for the Heroes in Literature essay, I realized that almost every protagonist is a hero in his own book. However, I did not consider all these characters to be heroic, only possessing some heroic qualities. I tend to favor superheroes and men of bravery on the battlefield as heroes. Self-sacrifice for a greater cause is the most heroic trait of all.
