On this date, the Great Leap forward was launched. The Great Leap Forward was a plan launched by communist leader Mao Zedong. The plan called for communes, which were large camps, where they would send the peasants to produce food for the country. The plan was unsuccesful though, and resulted in the death of 20 million people. -

This event took place between 1966 and 1976. It was a revolution ran by young, communist, Chinese, students in surrpot of Mao. The students believed that if they had communism, the power would be restored to the people and everyone would be equal. -

On this date, the Vietnamese capital (Saigon) was taken by The People's Army of Vietnam. This event marked the end of the Vietnam war.
