On april 20th 1970, the vietnamization took place in the U.S. In the vietnamization Nixon stated that the U.S would supply south Vietnam with artillery but not with men to fight for them, only to teach them and let them take matters into their own hands. -

What the U.S did at this point was to elave the vietnamese with EVERYTHING they needed, except the men to fight, that was up to them to find, and fight on their own. -

The silent majority were the people that he thought that supported him but just chose not to say anything, they also had an opinion and they chose not to said, he refused to listen to the 'minority' that disliked his ideas and spoke about it. -

What caused the christmas bombarding ? you may ask, well the real reasoon why this bombarding was created was because Paris changed their minds on the PPT (Paris Peace Talks), and of course this caused world wide protest. -

The government believed that people 18 years and up should have the right to choose who they wish to be their leader , this being said the government believed that U.S 18 year olds also had an opinion and it should be heard.
