    The goal of the Chinese Exclusion act was to stop the inflation of Chinese immigrant laborers in the United States. This went on for 10 years and started on May 6, 1882.

McKinley dies 6 days later in the hospital and Czolgosz is taken into custody after being badly beaten and sentenced to death by electric chair in the following month of October.
