    8.1 The End of The Minoans

    In the 1600 BC there was an eruption of volcano at the north of Crete. The eruption made such a giantic wave, that it flooded most of Crete. The eruption also made huge clouds of ashes, which then covered the cities and ruined the crops. This eruption probably led to the end of the Minoans. That was the end of the Minoans.

    6.1 Early China- Shang dynasty

    The Shang dynasty was firmly created by the 1500 BC. The Shang dynasty took over a big area in the northern China, especially strong in the Huang He Valley. The Capital was moved many times, and probably because of natural disasters of from attacks from enemies

    Cleisthenes started to rule Athens in the 500BC. He didn’t want the aristocrats ruling Athens. He thought that they already had too much influence to Athens.

    6.3 The Qin Dynasty- The Great Wall of China

    The Qin Dynasty was the most famous for the Great Wall of China. It was built to keep invaders out of China. While building the massive structure, thousands of people died. The rest of the people just built the wall on top of the dead people. That is why someeople call the Great Wall of China the World's longest cemetery.

    6.2 Zhou Dynasty- Confucionism begun

    Confucius is born on the 551BC. Confucius created the Confucianism because he didn't like the disaster in China. He thought China needed to return to the ethics. He died in the 475 BC

    9.1 Persia- Cyrus the great

    Cyrus the great started a revolt against Medes Greece in the 550BC. The revolt was successful and he got to rule the Persian empire. that is why people call him Cyrus the Great.

    9.2 Peloponnesian War Begins

    When Athens achived great power, other places of Greece was afraid that Athens will rule the country. So Sparta started to march over to the Athens in 431. This started a war between the two alliance, the Delian Leeague and the Peloponnesian League. the Peloponnesian League won the war.

    9.3 Alexander the great

    Alexander was a strong leader of Macedonia. He was the son of Phillip II and he wanted to conquer the world. He had many wars and countless scars, but he has never lost a war. Until he went to china and saw the war elephants.

    We use many of Euclid’s rules in math and geometry. He was considered one of the greatest mathematicians in history.

    In the 140 BC Emperor Wudi came to the throne. Under Wudi's strength, China's official government philosophy became confucianism.

    Euclid is one of the greatest mathematicians in history. He was interested in geometry and lines, angles. Many of modern day rules in geometry came from Euclid.
