  • Foundation of Rabbit Show Jumping

    Rabbit show jumping (other wise known as Kaninhop), was established in the early 1970's in Sweden
  • Development in Sweden

    More awareness was being brought to Rabbit Show Jumping in Sweden. There were two clubs that held competitions separately from one another.
  • First Swedish National Championship in Rabbit Show Jumping

    There are 4 courses types of courses in Rabbit Show Jumping ranging from easy to elite difficulty:
    -Straight Line
    -Crooked Course
    -High Jump
    -Long Jump This Event only consisted of Straight Line Easy at the time.
  • Merger of Clubs

    The two clubs in Sweden merged into one to later form the Swedish Federation of Rabbit Jumping.
  • Est. of Swedish Federation of Rabbit Jumping (SKHRF)

    Sweden's sole organization was officially developed. Known as the Swedish Federation of Rabbit Show Jumping.
  • Establishment of Rabbit Jumping in the U.S.

    The United States finally adopted the sport in 2001. This brought forth the Rabbit Hopping Organization of America. N/A formal competitions were formed during the decade.
  • The American Hopping Association for Rabbits and Cavies (AHARC)

    The American Hopping Association for Rabbits and Cavies was founded by the American Rabbit Breeders Association.
  • Rabbit Jumping in 4H

    The sport started development in 4H Camps throughout the U.S. and would continue to grow
  • First National Competition in the U.S.

    The sports first official National Competition was held at the ARBA National Convention in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
  • Impact of Covid-19 with Rabbit Show Jumping

    The need for sports will be at an all-time high once the dust settles from this pandemic. With this, it would be very important to key in on summer to host events at State Fairs, horse/farm shows, 4H camps, and pet expos to further the exposure of the sport within the country.
  • Rabbit Mascots

    Sponsor or hold events at Colleges where mascot is a rabbit (Starting with football)
  • Jumping into Holidays

    There is plenty of time to plan ahead for next year. What better way to get exposure than to hold competitions around Easter! It is most likely the most recognition rabbits receive all year. It would bring massive publicity to the sport to hold competitions in parks and other venues where possible Easter Egg Hunts may take place.

    Struggling with International Expansion

    Rabbit Show Jumping has trouble establishing a presence in other countries. This was in-part due to past political/war tensions that has taken place decades (some even centuries) prior with its neighboring countries Norway, Finland, and Denmark

    Late 90's/Early 2000- Denmark (fueled the spread of European countries)
    2000- Germany (along with a few other European countries)
    2002- Norway
    2004- Finland
