    This invention is created by Edwin Armstrong.He used the same basis for all radio recievers at the time. A 200kHz alternator starts operating at Station NFF, the Naval station in New Brunswich NJ(which was the most powerful radio transmitter at the time).

    Is an AM radio station in detroit at this time. This station offered the University of Michigan broadcasting rights for extension lectures. these rights given to the University allowed them to talk about anything: media, religion, etc.

    WJR-AM offers musical education broadcasting spots to the University of Michigan. UM continued to broadcast on WWJ as well. It taught school band lessons via radio.

    FM radio is born. Even though it is born, it is in mono. Mono stands for MONAURAL or MONOPHONIC SOUND, which is a single channel. Typically has one microphone, loudspeaker, and headphones.

    Television is born. FM is moved from its original home of 42-50 Mhz to 88-108 Mhz. This was to make room for TV. By next year there will be 6 TV stations in the nation.

    The number of radio recievers in the world exceeds he number of newspapers printed daily. This shows how popular radio was at the time. Everyone wanted their own radio station now and everyone at home was interested in listening to the radio(was a family activity).

    CBN plays "It's My Party" by Leslie Gore. The special thing about today though was that instead of playing the song once in honor of Reagan, they played it for 18 hours. They did this the day after Reagan was elected for president.
