  • The pilgrims

    When the pilgrims lived in England there was only one church approved by the English rulers. If you didn't believe in that religion you can get hurt or go to jail. The pilgrims didn't want either of them so they went to find land in the new world
  • Religious Requirements for Voting

    To vote in some countries, you had to be a certain religion and have a decent amount of land. This made people mad, so they wanted to leave to find a place where they can vote and have freedom of religion.
  • Maryland‐ The Catholic Experiment

    Lord Baltimore granted his people freedom of religion, but it didn't really work out. So he decided to find land in the new world and start it there.
  • Quakers in Pennsylvania and New Jersey

    Penn was a man who was a quaker and got hurt believing in that. So Penn went to king Charles the 2 to give him land for a debt the king owed to Penn's father. So he used that land to make his own colony and have freedom of religion there.
