    Gutenberg's Printing Press (Part 1)
    The Printing Press was invented by Johannes Gutenberg. It is a device to create the printing system, allowing to create copies. The Printing Press was invented sometime between 1440 and 1450. Gutenberg created the Printing Press in Mainz, Germany. The reason why it was created was that before it was invented, in order to print something, it had to be carved into wood, inked, and onto paper, called "block-printing". Since each page was a different block, this was expensive and time consuming.

    Christopher Columbus lands in the Bahamas, believing it's Asia. He wanted to find a route to East Asia by going west. Though he underestimated the world's size and lands in the Americas. He set sail from Palos, Spain with the Santa Maria, the Pinta, and the Nina in August 3, 1492. He became the first European to land in the Americas. Columbus ended up making Spain to be the richest country in the world in the century and most powerful, as he discovered the New World for Europe.

    Leonardo da Vinci, an Italian painter painted the Mona Lisa. The Mona Lisa was created around 1503-1507, as the actual dates are difficult to confirm. The painting is a woman sitting, shown about waist up. This painting became one of the most well known painting during the Renaissance.
