  • Lexington and Concord

    Winner: Colonial victory Signficance: The Lexington and Concord battle was the start of the Revolutionary War.
  • Bunker Hill

    Winner: British Significance: We lost the battle but won the war. It provided much needed enchouragement, and made the british realize that the war is going to take longer than they thought.
  • Dorchester Heights

    Winner: Colonial victory Signficance: It was the first victory. They fired upon the british camp. Fort ticonderoga was a british supply fort in New York, the patriots went and stole their supplies and surrounded boston with cannons. The british then packed up and went to Canada to re-group. The colonists then took back control of Boston.
  • Declaration of Independence

    The Declaration of Independence, besides declaring that the colonies were now an independent nation, also set forth the reasons why we were breaking from Great Britain. It established the reasons for the colonies declaring independence.
  • Battle of Long Island

    Winner: Britian Significance: It showed that the British were stronger than the Americans. It forced the Americans to retreat. The patriots lost control of New York.
  • Battle of Trenton

    Winner: Patriots Significance: We would have had more severe fighting. We were outnumbered and out gunned. The battle waged that day dealt a tremendous blow to Britain's morale, and it showed them that we could go anywhere and get anything done.
  • Battle of Princeton

    Winner: Colonists Significance: This was a very important battle, and is usually discussed together with the previous battle, the Battle of Trenton (When Washington crossed the Delaware River.) without Trenton, there wouldn't have been a Princeton. Trenton is considered a major turning point in the war.
  • Battle of Brandywine

    Winner: British Significance: Lost control of Philidelphia
  • Saratoga

    Winner: Colonial Victory Significance: The Battle of Saratoga in September and October 1777 was a decisive American victory that was to result in France entering the conflict on behalf of the Americans during the American Revolutionary War. The capture of an entire British Army secured the northern American states from further attacks out of Canada and prevented New England from being isolated. It emboldened France to join the war on behalf of the Americans.
  • Valley Forge

    Significance: Valley Forge was the site of the 1777-1778 winter camp of the American army during the American Revolutionary War. They trained for more battles here.
  • Yorktown

    It was the last major battle led by General George Washington.
  • Treaty of Paris

    The Treaty of Paris was a treaty stating that there was peace between them.
