It was one of the first militia based battles of the revolutionary war, and the first one that really drove Boston toward the revolutionary cause. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
Battle of Bunker Hill took place in Charelstown, Massacusetts.
It is one of the most important colonial victories in the U.S. War for Independence. The colonists wanted to defend the Charelstown peninsula because they heard that the Bristish wanted conrol. The Bristish did win but they suffered many loses so they didn't really benefit from it.It gave the Patriots a lot of confidence and they realized that the war was gonna last a long time. -
Dorchester Heights
On this night the colonial milita and local volunteers forfited the summit of Dorchester Heights building. The victor was the colonists. It was the first victory for the colonists. -
Declaration of Independence
A document declaring independence from Great Britain. Declaration stated that the colonies were free and independent states. -
Battle of Long Island
The Americans wanted to block the path to Brooklyn Heights. They wanted to inflict heavy losses on th British. The Americans retreated and the British took over New York City. The British won. -

Washington's army crossed over to Delware and surpirsed the British. The American's won. -

The Americans won the battle. General Howe wanted to attack in Trenton but the Americans sidestepped and they ended up battling in Princeton. -

The British general Howe had his forces attack the American troops blocking his way to Philidelphia at Brandywine. The British won the battle. -

It was a winter of hardship and suffering for the troops. It was also a winter of training, in which the American troops were taught how to be professional soldiers. -
The Battle of Yorktown
The French assisted the Americans in this battle. The Americans and French won. The Bristish took Yorktown and towns on each side of the York River. -
Treaty of Paris
Treaty that officially ended the Revolutionary War on September 3, 1783.
