Start of the Revolutionary War. The British marched from New York and were attempting to take Lexington and Concord but were met by minutemen causing the British to retreat. -
Meeting of 2nd Continental Congress
The colonists met to determine what to do about the Brtish. They made the Olive Branch Petition but it was denied by the King. Therefore, they appointed George Washington as leader of the war effort. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
Victory for the British but many were killed. Colonists ran out of supplies and were forced to retreat but not without killing many of the British soldiers. -
Washington Crosses the Deleware
In the winter Washington crossed the ice covered Delaware river and captured many Hessians who were drunk from celebrating Christmas. -
