    The French and Indian War was a part of the "Seven Years War." It involved the French & the Indians on one side & the Americans & Indians on the other side. They started fighting because of the boundaries the French had settle.This was a big part of the American Revolution because after the war the Americans thought they had a right to own the land of Ohio Valley, but Great Britain said otherwise.

    The end of the French & Indian War was when the Treaty of Paris was signed which gave all the North Americans everything east of the Mississippi except New Orleans. This was an important part of the Revolutionary War because this was like the calm before the storm. Everyone was only peaceful for a little while, while tensions rised.

    The Stamp Act was passed so the British Parliament could pay for their troops. The colonists were forced to pay taxes directly to Great Britain & not their own legislatures. The stamp act required anything & everything to have a stamp saying that it had been taxed for. This was important to the Revolutionary War because the colonists rioted & were even angrier at Great Britain.

    Townshend Acts
    The Townshend Acts put new taxes on glass, lead, paints, paper, and tea. This act was named after Charles Townshend. The colonists reacted the same to this as they did the Sugar & Stamp Act. Britain eventually took off all the taxes, except for the one on tea. This tax lead to the Boston Tea Party which then lead to the Revolutionary War.

    The Boston Massacre was when a mob ganged up on British soldiers. The soldiers, hinking they were about to be attacked fired into the crowd & killed 5 people by doing so. This was very important to the Revolutionary War because ever since then, he colonists have had very bad feelings towards the British.

    The Tea Act was when Great Britain put a tax on tea. The colonists already felt they were being taxed unfairly so they rebelled. This was the final spark to ignite the Revolutionary War because this lead to the Boston Tea Party.

    The Boston Tea Party was when the colonists were angry over the tea act so they dumped loads of tea into the ocean while dressed up as Tomahawk Indians. This officially started the Revolutionary War.

    The Intolerable Acts was when the British closed the Boston Harbor, eliminated Massachusetts' government, & restricted many other government meetings. This caused Massachusetts to rebel which only made tensions worsen.

    Lexington & Concord were the first two battles of the Revolutionary War. This is where a British general planned to capteure samuel Adams & John Hancock. These were the first shots that lead to many more of the Revolutionary War.

    The Declaration of Independence was soon after the Revolutionary War started. The leaders of it wrote to the King of England about why they were fighting against their own country.
