  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The Sugar Act was another tax the government was putting on the colonists. This Act put a tax on sugar and molasses imported from the French and Spanish West Indies. The colonists now became very enraged with all this taxation.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act is when the government put a tax stamp on all legal documents. Examples of a legal document are contracts and licenses. So now when ever you wanted to send mail, you had to pay a tax to send it. People were frustrated because of this. People began to protest this new Act.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    The Quartering Act was also passed the same year as the Stamp Act. Colonists were forced to find quarters, or living spaces for British soldiers stationed in America. Colonists found this as an attack on their rights.
  • The Declatory Act

    This was when Great Britain made an act to say that what ever law they made the colinists had to follow it. The colonists became very irritatetd.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre took place in Boston, Massachusets. Some colonists were protesting on British Soldiers. The soldiers took this as a threat of which resuleted in the British Soldiers killing a variety of innocent colonists. The colonists reacted by making sure the soldiers who shot and killed the innocent colonists were put in jail. Colonists made sure the soldiers were proven guiilty and thrown in jail.
  • Tea Act

    The Tea Tax was a taxtion on all tea being imported into America. This was now the fourth Act put into place in America. Now the colonists were enraged with anger about this tax and were ready to start to rebel against the whole government.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    Since the government put a tax on tea the colonists were now filled with anger. The colnists rebelled in a Boston shipping port dressed as Native Americans. The colonists went onto ships and started to dump all of the tea into the water. This was a statement that the colonists would not drink the tea until the Tea Act was abolished
  • Intolerable Act

    Intolerable Act
    This Act was enforced to close all ports in The New World and to give more power to the toyal government. This made colonists loose revenue through trade. The colonists were starting to drift farther apart from their royal government.
  • First Continental Congress

    First Continental Congress
    This meeting was held by important buissness and wise men that wanted to find a way to gain Independence from the British. This meeting was the first of many meetings held. These meeting brought colonists closer together because they all had the same feelings and view points about independence from Britain.
  • Articles of Association

    This is when Americans stopped trading with the British to make a statement that they wanted independence.
  • Battles of Lexington and Concord

    Battles of Lexington and Concord
    These were the first battkes of the AMerican Revolution. These battles are known as, "The shot heard around the world". Colonists were ready to put their lives on the line for independence from Britain.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    Was a battle where the miltia tried to ambush the British. Was one of the most bloddiest battles fought. This gave the Americans confidence.
  • Common Sense

    The common sense was published for propoganda torwards the American Colonists to start the fight against the British to gain Independence.
  • Battle of Trenton

    The Battle of Trenton was a very battle. Geroge Washington was taking full ontrol of the army now. This was a very rough battle because of the blizzardly weather. Many died from starvation, frost bite, or battle in the harsh wintary battle and weather.
