    The British had won the French and Indian War. They took control of the lands that had been claimed by France. France lost its mainland possessions to North America.

    Who issued it: British Who did it affect: Colonists When: 1763 What did the Proclamation do to the colonies?: stopped them from moving west How is this a cause that led to war?: Colonist could do the main thing they came their for which was to expand

    When was it enacted: 1764 How did it affect the colonists? They weren't able to smuggle goods in as easily How is this a cause that led to war?: Smuggling was the main way to avoid taxes on imported goods

    When was it enacted: 1765 How did it affect the colonists? Printed goods had to be on stamped paper from London How is this a cause that led to war?: Had to pay more for paper on prided goods

    Who: Sons of liberty and other Rebels and the British East India Company Where: Boston Harbor When: 1773 What happened and why: A group of colonist dressed as Indians with tomahawks stormed to harbor broke open crates of tea and dumped them into the water Outcome/effect: Intolerable act was put into place
  • Intolerable Acts

    Who: Britain Where: Massachusetts When: 1774 What happened and why: The Act made it so the harbor was closed so they could no longer import/export goods , The Massachusetts Government Act, which replaced the elective local government with an appointed one and more military power. How is this a cause that led to war? It closed the harbor which was a main part of the economy
