  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The Sugar Act was when there was tax put on molasses and sugar as well as other things. There were also many harsh punishments for the smugglers. There is a phrase for the Sugar Act. This phrase is, “Taxation without representation is tyranny”. The colonists had boycotted all of the British goods. In addition to that, there was also a petition that was sent to England.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    To buy wills, contracts, newspapers and even cards (playing) colonists had to buy an additional stamp. Colonists demanded that the tax be repealed.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    During the Quartering Act, colonists were required to feed and put a roof over soldiers’ heads. Sometimes this rule was disobeyed and some colonists refused to house and feed the soldiers. They had thought it was cruel that they had to care for a soldier that they don’t even know.

    Townshend Act
    During the Townshend Act, the British would not tax goods in the colonies. There was always tax on a lot of things such as tea, lead, glass, and more. The Townshend Act included a document called the Writs of Assistance which allowed the British to search ALL of the ships.

    Was caught by the regulars and then set free
    Looked for the lanterns in the window of the Old North Church
    Did not really scream the british are coming by said The Regulars are coming.
