    End of The French and Indian War
    The French lose all land in North America. Also Britain has a war debt. Lastly colonists settle in the Ohio River Valley; this leads to conflicts with French and Native Americans on the frontier.
  • The Proclamation of 1763

    The Proclamation of 1763
    Banned all colonists from settling west of the Appalacian Mountain. The colonists believed that they had a right to live where they pleased. Also the colonists view of this act was widely ignored because it was impossible for the Bristish to enforce. This lead to the French and Idian War.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    This act put a tax on sugar, molasses, and other things; in cluded harsh punishments for smugglers. The colonist view of the act was James Otis to coin the phrase "taxation without representation is tyranny." Also the colonists reaction to the act is they boycotted Bristish goods. Also they sent a petition to England.

    Required colonists to house and feed British soldiers. The Colonists viewof the act was their rights as Engliish citizens have been violated. Also the colonists reaction to the act was some refused to let soldiers stay.

    Stamp Act
    Colonists had to buy an additional stamp for documents like wills, contracts, newspapers and even playing cards. The colonists view of this act was this was an unfair tax that they had not input and also demanded the tax to be repealed. The colonist reacted to this act by burning stamped paper, held stamp act congress in New York City. (tarred and feathered)

    Townshend Acts
    Britain wont tax goods in the colonies, they taxed on imports including lead, tea, glass , etc. The Writs of Assistance allowed Bristish customs official to search ships. The colonists view of the act was this is still a tax! Rights are being violated. The colonists reaction to this act was to smuggle goods into the colonies, and reduced imports to the colonies.

    Boston Massacre
    This was a time in Boston on a snowy dark night when the British were walking down the street guarding the mayor's money. Everything was normal intill the angry colonists came and started argueing with the soldiers and yelling "come on, fire, fire." So the soldiers fired and killed many people because they thought they're captain yelled fire when it really was the colonists!
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act of 1773- tea must be imported directly from British East India Co. Tea is still taxed (3 pence/pound.) Also that company chooses who can and cannot sell tea. It puts tea merchants out of business. It gives British a tea monoploy.

    90,000 lbs(45 tons) of tea in 342 containers was thrown overboard. Also 116 people participated in the destruction of tea. Lastly more than 5000 people showed up for the meeting in the Old South Meeting house.

    Closed the port of Boston untill tea is payed for trials moved to England. Also banned town meetings. This act also strengthened the Quae=rtering Act.

    Everyone was there but, GA John Jay(NY). The Continental Congress met because they were deciding what should be done about the intolerable acts? They decided to demand repeal intolerable acts, trade militia gether ammunitons, organize boycotts, and meet in May 1775.
  • Paul Revere's Ride

    Paul Revere's Ride
    Paul Revere one night saw two "regulars" and knew that meant they were coming from sea because one by land and two by sea so two meant they were coming from the sea. So, he went and told everybody. He was with William Daws and Sam Prescott.

    700 British troops head to Concord to seiz munitions on April 18-19,1775. This was important because 77 minutemen waiting for British; shots fired; 8 farmers dead; war had begun; first time soldiers vs.soldiers.
