Proclamation of 1763

At the end of the French and Indian War, the British issued a proclamation intended to conciliate the Indians by checking the Enroachment of settlers on their land. The law stated that colonists could not move past the Appalachian mountians which led up to the war. -
The Stamp Act

The colonists had to pay a stamp tax on all legal documents.
The issues of taxation and representation raised by the Stamp Act strained relations with the colonies to the point that, 10 years later, the colonists rose in armed rebellion against the British. -
Townshend Acts

In 1770, Parliment repealed all the Townshend duties except for the tax on tea,
leading to a temporary truce between the two sides in the years before the American Revolution. -
Boston Massacre

When the backup got there they were also yelled at and had snowballs, sticks, and stones thrown at them. One soldier fired into the crowd and more shots followed from the soldiers. Eventually, 3 colonists were killed on the spot and 8 were injured. 2 colonists that were injured died later on. The deaths in the is event are said to be the first fatalities of the war. -
Tea Act

Boston Tea Party
